Flagstaff, Mpondo Kingdom born Princess Nandile Ndamase who is the Secretary General of the South African Royal Princesses Network (SARPN) is on a quest to contribute positively to the rural communities. Closest to her heart is the fight against GBV and economic development.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month as well as Youth Month. Nandile is of the view that the GBV awareness programs must be a norm at schools to educate and create awareness amongst the youth. Further, since more often than not men are perpetrators of GBV, it is critical to have these conversations with boy children or have a men’s parliament or boy child boot camps to address this. Alarmingly, there are a growing numbers of boys that are being violated. Every day we wake up to a child being raped and killed, the latest being Anga Ndema from Tsomo. The question is is enough being done to tackle these terrible crimes. Is enough done to create awareness and protect villagers from these criminal activities and what is being done to offer support and after care for these victims. Some of the outreach programs as Secretary General that Princess Ndamase, as part of her portfolio in the Princess Network is tasked with, is to tackle these challenges.

As both an entrepreneur and an artist, Princess Nandile Ndamase intends using her skills to tackle these challenges and inspire, educate and empower the youth. The SARPN also plans on working with partners including government, NGOs and business.

As part of this quest Ndamase met with Nkosi Ayanda Faku in Flagstaff, where she comes from, on the 20th June to discuss initiatives in agriculture to empower the youth.

On 24 June 2025, Princess Ndamase held a courtesy meeting with Mayor Daniswa Mafumbatha of Winnie Madikizela Mandela Municipality and members of the Mayor’s office including Mr Clive Noconjo (Manager in the Mayor’s office) and Ms Mafumbatha ((Manager: Economic Development) at the Wild Coast Casino in Mbizana. The session provided an opportunity for Princess Ndamase to present the vision and mission of SARPN, a network dedicated to empowering marginalized communities and promoting sustainable social and economic development across South Africa as well as youth and women empowerment, fight against GBV and awareness around mental illness.

During the meeting, Princess Ndamase outlined SARPN's goals of creating long-term opportunities for young women, the youth, the elderly and communities in need, with a particular focus on initiatives that would benefit the people of Bizana. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the network and local authorities to help address key challenges in the area.

“Our primary objective is to work alongside local governments and community leaders to create initiatives that uplift and empower,” said Princess Ndamase. “This introduction serves as a first step in fostering a productive dialogue that can lead to meaningful support for the people of Bizana.”

The Mayor’s office expressed their appreciation for the Princess’s visit and welcomed the opportunity to explore future collaborations. Both parties shared a mutual interest in developing community-driven solutions that could contribute to Mbizana’s growth and prosperity.

The visit to the Wild Coast Casino marks an encouraging beginning in what could be a fruitful partnership aimed at enhancing the lives of Mbizana’s residents through targeted empowerment programs.
